Dominic’s Senior Session at St. Mary's Preparatory High School, Orchard Lake
This was my first time photographing a senior client at St. Mary’s Preparatory High School. I must say, I loved it! There are a lot of gorgeous areas on the grounds, as well as nearby to create amazing portraits. Most notably, there is a beautiful grotto for saying prayers. This was my favorite spot on campus. With black iron gates, the garden, and pines nearby, there were several possibilities for nice background scenery at the grotto.
We walked all over campus though. We photographed at the chapel, in front of the prep building, as shown below, and in between buildings where we found ivy trailing up the sides of the brick.
The senior’s mother also wanted to tie in family portraits with the session. So, after an hour with the senior, the siblings and dad joined us and we created some beautiful portraits of the whole family. I used the seminary as a distant backdrop and it turned out lovely!
I absolutely loved the way this senior’s family showered him with love and attention during the family photographs, showing their support for him as he prepares to make a huge transition in life! One of my favorite parts of photographing families is getting to know their unique personalities individually, as well as their style as a family! I felt honored to be a part of this family’s special moments together as they celebrated with their soon-to-be graduate!
