I’m Lola, the photographer behind Lola Marie Photography, a Michigan photography studio based in Fenton. I specialize in wedding photography, couples, senior portraits, family photography, maternity and newborn sessions, and professional headshots, serving Fenton, Detroit, and communities throughout Southeast Michigan.

My love for photography started in eighth grade, when I received my first disposable film camera. From the moment I developed that very first roll, I was hooked. There was something magical about being able to preserve a moment that would otherwise exist only in memory. That feeling has stayed with me ever since.

Although I went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in English, fueled by a lifelong love of writing and storytelling, photography ultimately became the way I wanted to tell stories. I love the combination of beautiful imagery and genuine moments, and I’m always looking for the little details, expressions, and interactions that make each person, family, or wedding uniquely yours.

I began my professional photography career in 2010 under the mentorship of two highly respected Detroit wedding photographers. Those years shaped the way I approach my work today: with a strong technical foundation, an eye for beautiful light and composition, and an appreciation for moments that feel real rather than overly posed.

After taking five years away from photography to focus on raising my three children, I returned to the business with a fresh perspective and an even greater appreciation for how quickly life changes. That experience has influenced the way I photograph families, couples, and milestones. I know how meaningful these photographs become over time, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly.

Today, I photograph everything from Michigan weddings and engagement sessions to senior portraits, maternity and newborn photography, family sessions, and professional headshots. I’m honored to have been named a three-time Best of The Knot winner (2024, 2025, and 2026) and a WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Award recipient in 2024 and 2025.

Whether I’m photographing a wedding day, a high school senior, a growing family, or a professional portrait, my goal is the same: to make you feel comfortable, have a genuinely good time, and create photographs that feel like you. I want your images to be beautiful, but I also want them to bring you right back to how that moment felt.

I’m based in Fenton, Michigan, and photograph clients throughout Southeast Michigan, including the Detroit area, as well as destination locations beyond Michigan. Wherever your story takes you, I’d be honored to help preserve it.
