I’m Lola, the photographer behind Lola Marie Photography, a Michigan photography studio based in Fenton. I specialize in wedding photography, while also offering couples, senior portraits, family, maternity and newborn sessions, and professional headshots throughout Fenton, Detroit, and Southeast Michigan.

My love for photography started in eighth grade, when I received my first disposable film camera. From the moment I developed that very first roll, I was hooked. There was something magical about being able to preserve a moment that would otherwise exist only in memory. That feeling has stayed with me ever since.

Although I went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in English, fueled by a lifelong love of writing and storytelling, photography ultimately became the way I wanted to tell stories. I love the combination of beautiful imagery and finding the genuine moments that unfold naturally, the ones that make you smile, tug at your heart, and become memories you’ll cherish for years to come.

I began photographing weddings professionally in 2010, after learning alongside two talented Detroit wedding photographers. That experience shaped so much of how I work today, from finding beautiful light and creating a strong composition to recognizing those genuine moments that happen naturally throughout a wedding day.

After taking some time away from photography to focus on raising my three children, I returned to the business with a fresh perspective and an even greater appreciation for how quickly life changes. That experience has influenced the way I photograph families, couples, and milestones. I know how meaningful these photographs become over time, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly.

I’m honored to have been named a three-time Best of The Knot winner (2024, 2025, and 2026) and a WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Award recipient in 2024 and 2025.

Whether I’m photographing a wedding day, a high school senior, a growing family, or a professional portrait, my goal is the same: to make you feel comfortable, have a genuinely good time, and create photographs that feel like you. I want your images to be beautiful, but I also want them to bring you right back to how that moment felt.

I photograph at locations throughout Michigan and am available for destinations worldwide as well. Whether your story unfolds close to home or somewhere new, I’d love to be there to capture it.
